About
|
The Indonesian Irish Association was formed in 2002 as a non-political,
cultural and social society. It has about 100 members most of whom are
Indonesian. The Association's normal meeting are free and are held
in different venues.

Perkumpulan orang-orang Indonesia dan Irlandia di bentuk pada tahun 2002
sebagai sebuah organisasi sosial kebudayaan dan kemasyarakatan yang
tidak berkecimpung di bidang politik. Mempunyai sekitar 100 orang anggota
yang kebanyakannya adalah orang Indonesia. Pertemuan untuk anggota diadakan
di tempat yang berlainan dan tidak dikenakan bayaran.

The aims of the Indo Irish Association are:
- To promote Indonesian arts and culture
- To develop friendships by organising social gatherings
- To offer information and assistance for Indonesians arriving in Ireland
- To organise fundraising programmes
- To provide Indonesian related news.

Erna O ConnellErna Triwayuni OConnell is married to Paul and has 3 children, Tasya, Maya and Peter.She is the first chairperson of the Indonesian Irish Association. She is now a full-time mum and is currently living in South
Dublin.

Faisal YusufBorn in Glenmore, Banyuwangi of East Java, on 12 February. Studied Hotel and Tourism at New Surabaya College in Surabaya, Indonesia from 1993 to 1995. Worked for Radisson Hotel in Langkawi, Malaysia from 1995 until 2001. Working full time in a hotel in Dublin since 2001. Joined Indonesian Irish Association in 2002 and became Chairperson in January 2005.

Sari RedicanFounding member Sari Redican, was born in Jakarta in 1975. She arrived in Ireland in 1998 with her husband Derek. She is now a full-time mum with two young children and is currently living in Co. Kildare.

Maya SunarioMaya is half Indonesian, half Irish. She moved from Indonesia to Dublin
with her mother Dee and sister Donna when she was 16. Her father, Irawan
Sunario lives in Indonesia with his second wife and family. She is the
granddaughter of Mr. Prof. Sunario, a former Indonesian Foreign Minister
and Ambassador to England. Maya works full time and lives in Dublin with
her daughter Kira.

Edy MuttaqinEdy is living in Monkstown in Dublin, with his wife and children. He works as a site engineer.

Duties
Committee members are expected to contribute effectively and proactively to assist the
Chairperson in the running of an association which will be of benefit to and enjoyable for
all its members.
